We are fully committed to complying with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and ensuring best practice in protecting and safeguarding your personal data.

What do we need and why do we need it?

We will need to know basic personal data in order to supply you with more information about the products and services you have enquired about and to answer any questions you have. We will only collect and store personal data from you that is required in order to respond adequately to your enquiry or process any purchases of products or services made with us.

What will we do with it?

All the personal data we hold about you will be processed by Tim Knight Music in the UK. No other third-parties will have access to your personal data unless there is a legal obligation for us to provide it. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data is processed securely. Information that we collect will only be stored and processed within the UK and is protected by UK Data Protection laws.

The personal data we hold about you will only be used in line with the purposes detailed in this policy and the legal basis for this will be either for the administration of a contract we have in place with you or in line with the legitimate interests of our business in providing information governance and IT Security services (ensuring that this does not impact on your rights or freedoms in relation to privacy) or disclosed as required by law. Tim Knight Music has no reason to process sensitive information (special categories or criminal convictions data) about you.

We may use your personal information to:

a) send you non-marketing commercial communications;

b) send you email notifications that you have specifically requested;

c) send you marketing communications relating to our business which we think may be of interest to you, by post or, where you have specifically agreed to this, by email or similar technology (you can inform us at any time if you no longer require marketing communications);

d) deal with enquiries and complaints made by or about you relating services provided to you by Tim Knight Music;

e) support your rights under Data Protection law in relation to our use of your personal information.

Disclosing personal information

We may disclose your personal information to any of our employees, officers, insurers, professional advisers, agents, suppliers or subcontractors insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this policy. Except as provided in this policy, we will not provide your personal information to third parties.

We may disclose your personal information:

a) to the extent that we are required to do so by law;

b) in connection with any ongoing or prospective legal proceedings;

c) in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk);

d) to any person who we reasonably believe may apply to a court or other competent authority for disclosure of that personal information where, in our reasonable opinion, such court or authority would be reasonably likely to order disclosure of that personal information.

How long will we keep it?

We will generally keep your personal data for a minimum of six years, after which time it will be destroyed if it is no longer required for the lawful purpose(s) for which it was obtained. If you consent to marketing, any information we use for this purpose will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.

We must also tell you that you have the right to refuse consent and the right to withdraw any personal data held about you at any time. If you wish to withdraw the data held, please email us at and we will remove such data as soon as possible. We regularly review the consents you’ve given and the way we handle such data is under regular review.
